Who Is Behind It?

Chromatron is the result of an ongoing collaboration between visual artist P. Frasiola and physicist E. Lorenz in which various concepts around digital and mechanical reproduction of visual art are explored. With a special focus on the emergent creative potential that the characteristics of each reproduction method offer. In this project, a streamlined workflow from image processing to color decomposition and recomposition, and to mechanical painting has been developed. Using it turned out to be so much fun and to have a larger potential than their own usage that the duo decided to turn it into a professional service for everyone.

P. Frasiola is a post-internet visual artist exploring the impact of technology and social media on visual processing. Her work uses computer-generated imagery and modern communication elements to comment on these developments, featuring a repetition-based meditative style that explores calming effects in our fast-paced world.

E. Lorenz, PhD, is a theoretical physicist and computer scientist specialising in computer simulations and visualisations of complex systems and has experience as a tech startup CTO, developing scientific products for non-experts. His skills include software development, technical design, electronics, and generative art and music.

Of course, also other professionals are involved for specific tasks. We'd like to thank everyone that is contributing.
